Ultrasound Analysis/ Inspection is least used but of great usage CM technique. It is always underestimated & a lesser-known technique. In reality, Ultrasound Analysis/ Inspection gives early indications of the fault than any other techniques, even before vibration analysis.
For Bearing Condition monitoring, Ultrasound Inspection is the best technique. No other techniques even Vibration Measurement/ Analysis can beat Ultrasound Analysis in CM of bearings. Acoustic Lubrication helps in keeping the correct quantity & quality of lubricant in the bearing. Ultrasound Analysis detects even faults due to contaminated lubrication, which Vibration analysis doesn’t (unless there is metal particle contamination in lubricant)

The Ultrasound Inspection detects frequencies over 20 kHz. Our applications use frequencies between 36 kHz – 40 kHz. With ultrasound inspection, we can hear a sound that we can’t hear normally with our ears.
