CAss of Electric Motor
Condition Assessment (CAss) of Electric Motor includes Visual Inspection, Vibration Probing Study, Vibration Assessment, Thermography, Ultrasound Assessment, Bearing Lubricant Assessment, etc.
Visual Inspection includes inspecting the ambient conditions – moisture (humidity)/dust/gases, operating conditions – load, number of starting, ventilation grill for chock up, Sparking at brushes (in case of DC Motor), condition of cable termination in TB, etc.
Vibration Probing Study is done to learn about the condition of the rigidness of foundation, deformation in base rail, fastening of the motor with base rail, bent shaft condition, piping strain (if motor driving pump) & soft foot conditions.
Vibration Assessment, Thermography, Ultrasound Assessment is done to learn the condition of bearings, Windings, Stator Core, Misalignment, Rotor Imbalance, Bearing Housing, etc.
Oil Analysis is done in case of Oil Lubricated bearings in a motor to know about the condition of the oil.
